The Labour party in the UK

It seems the Labour party in the UK has been on a rampage of expelling members (including many Jewish people) for talking about Israel/Palestine, on the pretext of antisemitism. See this article about it, and the YouTube videos, "The Labour Files" Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4.

This article, Don’t apologise - attack, suggests that accusations of antisemitism have also specifically been used to attack Labour's former leader, Jeremy Corbyn.

Moshé Machover

He was expelled from the party in 2017, but this was rescinded (also here).

He has given a long interview.

In this Just Jews video

he says the accusation that the Labour Party is riven with antisemitism “doesn’t correspond to any evidence that I’ve heard of.”

Subsequently, in 2020, he was suspended. He links to other articles which, he says, "I urge you to read". Well, that is exactly what this "Streisand Effect" website is about: I, too, urge you to read them:

And each of the Jewish Voice for Labour articles linked above contains links to other relevant ones.

He has also written a lot for the Weekly Worker and the Israeli Occupation Archive

Stephen Kapos

The Holocaust Survivor Summoned for Police Interview Over Gaza Solidarity Protest was 87 year old Stephen Kapos. In 2023 he quit the UK Labour party. This was because they threatened to expel him if he spoke at a Holocaust Memorial Day event. Here is a transcript of his speech at that event.

Here are some YouTube videos of him: Gaza Genocide is not happening in my name, and History is on your side. Here is a long interview with Owen Jones.

This article, Activist responds to suspension by organising awards for ‘Labour heroes’ expelled by party mentions a number of cases, and this one, New JVL evidence to EHRC – left Jewish leaders over TWO HUNDRED times more likely to be targeted by Labour than other members discusses the situation, saying "Even being a rank-and-file left-wing Jew means persecution by Starmer’s party"
